Now is the time to make your story heard. If you were a minor that needed blood and felt coerced into refusing it, now is the time to stand up, while the media is picking up on this subject.
I have my own personal blood experience when I was 12, my surgery was held up due to the blood issue. The doctor and my parents argued back and forth over it, finally the doctor came to me and asked me. I was worried that my parents were outside the room listening. I tried every way in the world to give signals that I would take a blood transfusion. Finally I just looked at the doctor and whispered "do what you need to do, I dont want to die"
Folks, as a minor, I was put into a very hard place. I had to be willing to accept blood without my parents knowing that I wanted it.
this is the abbreviated story.
Thankfully I didnt need it.
Stand up and tell the world, so they know that this isnt just a matter of personal choice, but a matter of coercion also.
If you had a blood issue in your youth, stand up now !!
