I would like to thank people who previously helped me with van Baalen's book "The Chaos of Cults".
This time, I am looking for the words on page 269 of the THIRD edition, which I think was released in 1960.
It seems to me that van Baalen made wholesale changes with each edition, so I am very specific that it is the THIRD edition I am seeking.
I hope someone can help me.

I looked around but it seems difficult to find. It's on google books but with a limited preview, and I don't think it's the version you're looking for.
What's in this book that interests you? Personally I'm not that big on books that discuss this subject that come from such a heavily religious backround. Like in Kingdom of the Cults there is a tendancy to mark as a cult a group that differs in theology and putting less emphasis on practices and policies. Steven Hassan is much better IMO because he comes at it from a psychological perspective and not a doctrinal one.

The book "The Chaos of Cults" is mentioned in a QFR of July 1 1957. A JW posed this QFR to a friend of mine, who in turn asked me for my comments.
So far I have located the 1956 and 1962 editions of the book, and I need the 1960 edition, since it follows the 1957 QFR and is referred to in the 1962 edition.

You can find the book on Amazon.com if you want to purchase a copy. You can get it used for less money. I just went on and got a preview of the book (using the "look inside" option). I put it on my wish list as it looks very interesting. It has a chapter on the Russellites. Lilly

Thank you, but I do need the Third Edition. From what I have seen, the author made sweeping changes with each Revision.
In the footnote at page 258 of the 1962 Revision, the author wrote (in part): "See the third edition of The Chaos of Cults, p. 269".
Hence my enquiry.
