Watched it today. Very interesting. I learned things about the root of the hellfire belief that I never knew. I was raised a jw, pioneered and all that rot, studied with lots of people.
One thing was about Dante's Inferno. I thought this was merely a piece of artwork (based on portions copied in WT lit) depicting the torment that occurs in hell, but it's actually more than that. I did not know that it is a lengthy written work that really centered on what he'd like to see happen to specific people, esp religious leaders, who had banished him and others who had wronged him; he mentioned by name the people who pissed him off. There are 9 rings of hell, each worse than the one before; #9 is the worst and is actually a cold, dark, frigid place where one is completely separated from God's presence.
It made me feel like a bit of an ass--a major belief like this for which I had for years taken the WTS's slant on, and thought I learned all the history behind it, they provided all the research one would ever need-so I thought. . .
If you get a chance to watch this, I recommend it.
