This is why I'm no longer a JW. Anything that doesn't agree with your world view is automatically a "lie." You aren't allowed to research talks using sources outside the publications. How do you really know that what the organization says is true really is if you don't research and verify independent facts?

Great video. It may seem pointless to talk to some of these people. However, even if they seem stubborn, they have already rebelled against the authority of the governing body by talking to you. You helped this person take a first step towards apostasy and the truth. Hopefully, he will realise it someday.

I particularly enjoy the fact that she ignored what I said about not having any information sources outside the organization. That to me was the huge deal-breaker. To put it like Ray Franz, I just couldn't live in the "hermetically-sealed" information container that was Jehovah's Witnesses. I was on the fence until this past September, when all outside information sources became banned for use in talk research as well as the study of the original biblical languages. Only an organization with something to hide would make such a ruling. To me, it was basically Brooklyn admitting the NWT is not a scholarly translation, but one slanted to fit their beliefs.
