JW killed in hunting accident

  I'm not sure if this is newsworthy on this board, but I vaguely
  knew the young man killed, and many of my old circle of friends
  knew him very well.

  My mom went to the funeral, and said that one of the "comforting"
  points offered was that Jehovah knew exactly the pain of the grieving
  parents because Jehovah too once lost a son in death.

  (!!??!!?)

  I found myself struck speechless by this comment. I found it really
  offensive in some instinctual, core way, and I can't quite explain
  why.

  She also said how everyone there could see the truth in the Bible's
  statement that the house or mourning is better than the house of
  festivity.

  What does that even MEAN??? Seriously, a young man just died a totally
  pointless death! How can anyone be so cruel and barbaric as to try and
  find something GOOD about it?

  Witnesses are in seriously unhealthy denial about death.

  I remember at my dad's funeral, at 42, they said a day of a man's death better than his birth or some such crap. Witless funerals are not comforting, just more depressing.

  I'm sorry to hear of his death. Hopefully he was in the middle of fun and doesn't remember it all.

  It's just not the witnesses the things they are saying are in the bible.

  The problem is God and the bible.

  ok im gonna agree with something................

  the day of a persons death IS greater than the day he was born............... WHY?

  because he will have become the person he is............ met people and influenced them..... hopefully in a positve way...........

  how you live today MAKES the friends who will attend your funeral.......... if a child dies a birth...... the people attending are friends of his or her family....... not of the deceased.

  just because the day is greater................. dosent mean that it dosent suck ass that you have lost someone........ then the question......... is there a heaven.......... hell.......... *SNORT* paradise earth (COUGH)(BULLS***)(COUGH)
