This song called Ave Maria, theres hundreds of variations, I love it, except, im not sure whether or not I should stop listening to it because last i read it was about someone praying to jesus mother in time of distress; I also read that its a song that has been sung many times in the Catholic Church. Ah man and its the ONLY opera type song I like heres the lyrics closest to the variation I like http://www.songmeanings.net/lyric.php?lid=3530822107858655382 help much appreciated, goodnight

I love that song also. It is not bad. The catholics like alot of Italian things. But there are Witnesses in Italy too. So don't worry about it.
Hey, WELCOME!!!!!! Sit down, stay for awhile, tell us what else is on your mind.

Your post inspired me to listen to Schubert's Ave Maria again. Delightful indeed. Yes, it means "Hail Mary", but technically, due to its age and frequency of performance in secular concerts, it's not exculsively a religious piece.
If you get analytical, the churches had all the money, music, art, and influence for like the past b'jillion centuries. So when you listen to music, don't be surprised that Mozart's Requiem Mass has religious connection. But wow, it's an awesome piece. Or when you look at Michaelangelo's David, yep, religious connections. Um, bluesteel, if you're a she, don't stare at his you-know-what. Or, um, if you're a he, don't star at his you-know-what.
