She gave me a Card Keepsake Box. All the Christmas cards I received from everybody here will go into the box. They are the first ones I've received, and are special.

It's more a "have a nice day" present. My parents always did something for our "birthdays", a card, a gift, and even cake when we were kids (no candles though).

I think your parents were very cool to acknowledge their kids birthdays.
