New Release - 2007 District Convention - Follow The Christ

  Lucky me, oh lucky me - my mom popped by on Sunday PM on their way home from the District Convention to give me a copy of the new release... and then phoned me today and asked me if I had started reading it and when will I start ( Note to self - I need to take a stand soon and make my intentions of never ever going back well and truly clear - 12 years of non attendance of meetings does not seem to have given Mom a clue!!!)

  So has anyone read it - it there anything totally pukeworthy that I have got to read before I chuck it in my rubbish bin - b'coz I didn't read the literature when I was in da troof - I am not about to start now...!

  You seen 'em one, you seen 'em all. The book is typical of all other litter-ature. I got a quick look at a scan of it somewhere last summer, and it was basically the same. You start out in the pre-sin condition, then Jesus dies as a ransom sacrifice, you do the Watchtower version of following him, spend your life in field circus, Armageddon comes, Jesus leads you into the "new" order, Satan and the demons come out, an undetermined number die, live forever. They are all the same, and nothing stuck out about this one as being any different.

  The book is called Follow The Christ. That WTW for the synopsis... methinks I can chuck it now!!!

  I agree with WTWizard. Same as always. A relative invited my husband to the convention during the summer. To my surprise he accepted and went. Afterwards he said now I see why you are so messed up in the head. I thought, "gee, thanks..." But he explained that he had never been to a religious event that was so full of you should this and you shouldn't that. He asked, "when does the worship actually start?" Apparently after you leave their religion.

  The witnesses wouldn't know the Christ if he stood in front of them and told them.

  I say chuck it - don't even bother.

  So that is the theme of this years' convention. I feel sorry for all those attending in Durbans' sweltering heat and humidity - and as they sit on the stands they can actually see the ocean.
