I think imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

I also think that attempting to link CTR and the Masons is an error.

I appreciate the hard work that went into sixscreens but admit I haven't thoroughly read it.

I think AO is an intelligent, informative poster, a real asset here.

Since this is a public board, I don't have a problem if sixscreens draws inspiration or topics from
posters on JWD as long as the facts presented are accurate.

And I've come to trust AO's sincerity and accuracy.

The information on the 6 screens is common knowledge available to all who read the older WT books. I personally know the people behind the 6 screens and although they do come on JWD to view posts, the information on the 6 screens website has been gathered by them for years before it was put up in that format.

Those behind the website have an extensive library on Russell's and old WT books. Probably the largest available in New England. They pulled all the information right from these books just like AO did. I like the way the 6 screens organized the information into sections. Although I do feel parts of it are a turn off to many ex-jw's like the information on the Masons. Personally though I believe Russell had ties to them and it is evident by the pyramid charts his bible student followers of today still use. And much of his language in his books smacks of masonry too.

btw: we should thank Russell and the past WT presidents for forever imortilizing their crazyness in the printed word for all to see. Thanks chucky Russell! Lilly

Maybe, but the Six Screens already had the information on the page back in February:

Yeah, I agree about the Masons thing too.

I think the Sixscreens post is undated leaving me to wonder who posted first.

    Really doesn't matter to me.

    The occult? Freemasons? Good grief.

Hi Lilly, thanks for the background info on the people behind sixscreens. The debate over Russell's ties to the Masons will never be put to rest.

Personally... I think he used Masonic images and language as a marketing ploy to lend an air of legitimacy to his newfound religious club, by
attracting members of established men's clubs. The Masons simply fit the bill.

The fascination with pyramids and anything associated with Egypt were all the rage back then, too. So pyramids suited his purposes as well.

Apparently, religion and network marketing met pop culture. If "Chucky" didn't do it, the time was ripe for someone else to seize the opportunity.

    Sorry, cultswatter, no conspiracy here!

Either way, that is one of my favorites to send people that are studying to become witlesses to. It not only has the facts, but the proof to back it up. Often, they have actual scans of paragraphs, with highlighting, on key points that they are using to prove the Watchtower Society has tampered with the Bible and are in fact a cult.

I have read that site, and I think most of the information on it is contained within the Watchtower litter-ature itself. Most of it comes from outdated litter-ature compared with newer litter-ature, as well as the non sequiturs and faulty logic found right in the litter-ature itself. Even the Bible gets a thrashing--that is, the doctored up New World Translation. Whether they borrowed ideas from this or other apostate sites is a good question, but I would be happy to see something I post here end up also on Six Screens of the Watchtower and other apostate sites. Every integration is helping to expose the Tower and will help ruin them.
