Rake leaves before I rest? Untill my wife finds me dead in a pile of leaves? Untill I just get wet with sweat? Untill I give my heart a good workout?
I was having my heart miss a beat several years ago. My doctor gave me a stress test on a walking machine and when I finished it never did it again, so maybe my heart needs some stress now and then. Anyway at 72 I quess I should be glad I can rake leaves as long as I do.

I think you should get yourself a leaf blower for Christmas. Then you can blow them along your fence line (if you have one) to save yourself weed eating next year.

Until the first of (1) The job is done, (2) You start feeling you've had enough for the day, or (3) immediately if you start feeling any chest pain or other sudden pain beyond fatigue. It is good to push yourself to the limit, but not beyond, with physical exercise.
Or you can do like I did and remove al leaf dropping trees around the house. Not only do I hate raking them I hate cleaning them out of the gutters even more.
I am also not a big fan of having one of them slice through my house during a windstorm.
Buy your own walking machine, then you can get your heart right when you feel like it.
The text books say you should work until you are slightly out of breath.
I do that and then stop, I am older than you, have a bit of excitement now and then,
invite the local elders round for a chat, that gets things going nicely!

You need a leaf blower and a little boy to operate it for you while you watch.

Or you could do like I did, sit back with a cold beer, and watch your other half do it! Of course you have to knock on the door every now and then to wave, to show your appreciation!

Here you are 72 years YOUNG, I love it! You're a good man KennyP, that's what my friends call me, thank you. Regards raking leaves, I just let nature take its course. I use my muclhing mower, a couple of runs past them mind you. Or, I let them blow around the neighborhood, after all, you didn't pull them off the trees did you? Your neighbors may object to that , your being a fine jw and all, and of course they all know that, right? Ken, don't you have any sons or some fine young jw volunteers that are appointed by the cong to assist the older ones? The dear faithful brothers who set the example when they were younger? Enjoy your retirement Kenny, leaves will come and leaves will go, one way or another.
