today two ideas came together for me - the thread that won't die and my sister telling me that the governor of Indiana does a challenge every year - challenging the citizens of Indiana to lose ten pounds in ten weeks. Maybe we could do that here - starting January 1, we weigh ourselves (keep the dreaded number secret), post our calories consumed and minutes of exercise online everyday and post our progress every week for ten weeks - anyone interested in a JWD ten pounds in ten weeks challenge? I'm going to do it anyway, but it would be more fun with company.

YES! That does sound very inspirational, however, the inevitable always happens. Unlesss we make positive changes in our lifestyles and eating habits, we put it all back on again.I have always been sucessful in taking off 20 or 30 lbs, then I blow it with pizza and beer. It's an admirable thing you propose dear, let me think about the changes I'll have to make. Ok, after much thought I have made a decision.............I have little will power in the winter. Let me hybernate on the matter. I am sure someone will take you up on your venture.

so January 1 we'll all post on this thread with our first calories and minutes of exercise - I imagine that on 1/1/08 anyone who was out the night before won't be eating much, or exercising! But we'll start - and once a week we'll post our progress. Momz and Andre - it's a go - maybe some other folks will do it too!
it's true we have to make behavioral changes - we'll share ideas and encouragement, eh?
