Soon after getting my first car, I stopped at the petrol station to put some air in my tyres.
I just couldn't get the nozzle onto the valve. Eventually I get a white van queueing to use the 'air' tube. Since I still couldnt get the blasted nozzle on I ask the driver of the van to help....
He comes along presses something on the damnt hing and water squirted out!
I'd been trying to put water in my tyres!
OMG
I was soooo embarassed. (drove away quickly)
Shell .... The second most stupid thing I ever did was hit return on this thread BEFORE I'd typed anything!!!! LOL

I once went to the bank and handed the teller a check for deposit. She handed it back and said : "I can't deposit this".
I looked at the "check" and realized I had endorsed the pay stub attached to the paycheck. I went home and found the paycheck in the garbage.

I was once walking down a steep hill (ski slope during a autumn festival) and I absent-mindedly,
but intentionally, kicked a rock with my foot. It was about the size of a orange, and it started
bounce-rolling down the hill until it was taking great bounding leaps...right towards a group of little kids milling around some pumpkins.
It missed a child's head by a few feet.
I never felt so lucky and stupid simultaneously.
