Yesterday was my grand daughter's birthday. I called her mother (my daughter of course) and heard all the noise and commotion in the background with the birthday party going on. My daughter, Maria, got my grand daughter Miya on the phone and I wished her a happy birthday. She was busy with her friends and didn't have much time to talk, but I know she was happy to get my call.
Tonight we all met for dinner, me, my wife, my daughter, her husband, my grand daughter, my other daughter and her husband, and a good friend of my daugher and her daughter who is my grand daughter's age. I know that is complicated, but the whole fam damly was there except for my son and his wife and son, because my son had to work.
Well, it was a wonderful time. My grand daughter sat at the head of the table with my wife, old what's her name, right next to her. (You know my wife as Zazu; my grand daughter calls her Giggi, kind of a nick name for grandma.)
It was a wonderful time. I sat by my two daughters and their husbands and we had a good time just talking about whatever came into our minds. (I am a lucky man. I like both of my son-in-laws.)
I usually don't talk about much personal stuff in my life, so this is a major exception. I guess all the expressions of happiness that people made about Haloween and the up coming joy of Thanksgiving and Christmas kind of made me think about the points of happiness we have in our lives, and how much they mean to us.
I will never forget the time I had with my family this evening.
Bless you one and all.
