Being a JDub for over a decade I don't recall hearing of the New Year Traditions. There was one I think I heard having to do with eating black eyed peas on New Year's Eve for good luck, I know there are more I'm missing.... Do you observe any New Year Traditions?

Around here we have black-eyed peas, greens, hog jowl and cornbread. It's the only day of the year I cook black-eyed peas.

You create a resolution to...... and pick something....such as losing 10 pounds. Quitting smoking.

In Louisiana it was black eyed peas for good luck and cabbage for financial prosperity.

Everyone kisses everyone at midnight after the countdown! We sing "auld lang syne" a scottish song which means for times gone by. It is like singing goodbye to the old year. Eveyone holds hands and sings and sways...sometimes sway a little too much! A great time for families and friends to be together.
