No, they do not...
Making resolutions is the same as celebrating the new year.

Only convention resolutions count. The ONCE A YEAR convention resolutions. Not those ONCE A YEAR resolutions you make at the start of the year...

What's wrong with celebrating the New Year?
That was one of the holidays I was always foggy on, the explanations not as obvious as Easter and birthdays and Christmas.
Lots of JW's I know go to friends' houses on New Year's Eve. What exactly qualifies as celebrating or not?
Thanks, just curious... not trying to topic steal. I know the answer to the question is no resolutions for JW's but I could never figure out why that was.

nothing is pagan about the new year. And making goals for yourself for the year, what's wrong with that? Just another method to their madness of controling people.

Conscientious Christians would want to heed the example of the Bible - no one good in the Bible ever celebrated the New Year, therefore it would be wrong. After all, it's like celebrating a birthday - the birthday of a new year.
You would celebrate the New Year like you celebrate a birthday - further showing how wrong it is.

I believe New years resolutions exist and are very real. More real than Santa Claus.
I have personally seen many of them. I can tell you they are real.
