Weirdest DVD problem I have ever had.

  I just got a anime two disk boxed set.

  I put the first disk in my computer works fine. The second disk didn't but still played at first it just skipped to playing rather than loading the menu. Which was annoying to say the least I prefer Japanese to English but now it won't load at all.

  Well I tried it in another player my PS2 the first disk which works perfectly in my computer won't even load. The second disk same thing except it loads still and works.

  Well I give up and go to my main dvd player both work but disk one skips an episode. I didn't bother with two other than it does the same skipping to episode without loading the menu first.

  Here is the kicker I load disk one back in my computer to see if maybe the episode is there. The disk works fine no skip. I went back to the main player it skips right at the same point to the next episode.

  It's either the deeminz, the pirates who burned it, a rootkit "gift' from the manufacturer, or the zone coding, that's my guess.

  I'd try ripping the discs to my hard drive using DVD Decrypter, then re-burning them...

  Or, it could be geneon's poor quality control. They just went out of bussiness in the US. I knew I should of got an older version.

  I was noticing in the center the writing is not lined up like it is supposed to be.

  Geneon used to be Pioneer AIC. It was an eBay buy though the package looks legitimate. Of course the normal packaging from geneon looks rather bootleg so who really knows.

  Needless to say I bought new ones to replace them this time from Fry's online. So if they are bad this time I can send them back.

  The verdict is out as to whether they are bootlegs though. Really convincing ones if they are.

  Though they lack Chinese subtitles and have the correct English dubbing and subtitles.

  Though it lack any thing saying who made them. pioneer and geneon usualy say it on the front though it look like the two disk set I have seen at Fry's.

  BTW I would live at Fry's if they would let me.
