Keeping Life pretty Simple

Yup - that's what I'm going to do from now on - it's my life choice. Sometimes us little humans tend to complicate things - some of us do it better than others. So I've decided to be truthful and honest with everyone - not that I lie now - but if I'm not happy with something I'm not just going to just suck it up and keep quie. I'm going to try not let my mood dictate how I react to people - if I'm having a bad day it's not necessarily your fault (unless you reversed into my car)

I've been reading some wonderful books while I've been away, one called Conversations With God - speaks about (amongst many other topics) how looking after yourself in the highest and purest form is the best thing for you and others - to be selfish (not in the usual way) is a good thing. I would like to quote what he says, don't have the book with me now, but ja something like that.

    And

    I'm going to smile more

One thing I did to simplify my life (which the Tower did in fact urge everyone to do) was to leave the Watchtower Society, stop showing up for the boasting sessions, and stop putting money in the Worldwide Pedophile Defense Fund. That was not what they had in mind when they wanted me to simplify.

The lead hounder in my previous congregation did, however, simplify the way they wanted. They cut out cable TV and reduced secular employment so they could all pioneer. I don't know what they do for entertainment (maybe they took www.jehovahs-witness.com/10/115757/1.ashx seriously and stopped it altogether). More importantly, they are going to be destitute when they get older, and they are going to have major health issues that they brought down on themselves with The Pioneer Diet, stress from all that field circus, and not getting enough sleep. So much for simplifying one's life. I think I did a better job, even though I bought a computer in the process.

Good luck. I'm learning about the good side of selfishness as well.

    Sounds good LouBelle.

To practice simplicity is to lead a calmer life.

I succeeded in becoming simple and calm when I was living up in the mountains for five years.

Now I am down in the city and going to work and college.

The lessons learned were real and I am applying them now while in the crowded city.

I am my own island of calm and peace often. And I am proud of that.

    Best wishes to you.
