Maybe God is evolving, too..........

With all the topics about God and whether he loves us or not....why He was such a meanie in the OT......his habit of flip-flopping from loving to raging to loving again....made me think:

If the Bible God is real, maybe He, too, is evolving spiritually. Maybe when He created us, HE thought in "black and white" concepts: I set the rules...you obey them....if you do, I'll be nice and reward you....if you don't, I'll punish the hell out of you (including but not limited to death by stoning). Over the next several millenia, this is how He approached Man.

Maybe after mankind CHOSE freewill by "eating of the tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil", and man began to think in SHADES OF GRAY...........GOD IS JUST PLAIN CONFUSED AND HAS TAKEN SOME TIME OFF TO STUDY US AND TRY TO FIGURE OUT ALL THE COMPLEXITIES OF THIS FREEWILLED HUMAN MIND !!!

Are you reading Stephen Colbert's new book? He has a chart that shows the evolution of God. Funny stuff.

God(or what ever you want to call "It") is a work in progress, or is in the making, it all depends what you mean by the term God, IMO.

Nothings stays the same in the dimension of time(according to my limited knowledge), from the Big Bang onward to the present. Will we reach an end point where the Universe(s) stop evolving or God has reached his zenith? I suppose we will never know.

Jehovah was one of many mean-spirited ancient mideastern gods.

He just got a better marketing plan in the New Testament. But he's still mean-spirited, just look at the bloodshed foretold in the book of Revelation.

That's an interesting point you bring on journey-on. It got me thinking...

If God is perfect does that mean that he cannot become more perfect? is he stuck?

My thought exactly. How can perfect evolve and why would it need to?

Here's a good book for God to read:

Think about it! Here you are....GOD.

You create Man in your image. You understand him and everything is black and white. He's like a robot serving you and being a "yes" man basically. No fun. No challenge.

So, you decide to give him free will. Voila! Adam and Eve. You experiment. You breath into his nostrils the breath of Life and man comes to be a living soul. This was more

than just giving him life. This was giving him logic, reasoning, intelligence. You put things into place and Man is given choices to make on his own. He begins to make them.

Man becomes in charge of his own destiny. Uh oh! Suddenly, things are not so black and white. Now there's a whole lot of gray areas...

extenuating circumstances...personality quirks...reasons why...etc. etc. Nothing is simple anymore. What hath God wrought!!!....lol

He tries to handle things the old way....black and white: rewards and punishments/death and destruction--------not working!

So, he pulls back and observes Mankind as they work out their own destiny. He learns from them. Perhaps He's coming to understand freewilled humanity.
