I live in an apartment and work from home. Earlier today I see a couple of Sheriff's cars, an ambulance, and fire truck go whizzing by my apartment and head down to my friends building. She just called me and told me that the guy that lives above her hung himself. His girlfriend found him. He was only 21. It makes me sick to think that someone so young feels death is their only option.
I am so bummed!

Sorry to hear that. There must have been something he was experiencing that he felt was worse than death.
There was a former elder here in San Diego Co who was probably the person who I looked up to the most in all of my years in the truth. He was very well respected, had a great theocratic family, was in charge of the hall project in our area, etc. I felt that if there was ever anyone who had his head on straight is was him. Well, maybe not so true. Lost contact with him after I left the organization, saw him at an expo one time years after and when talking to him found that he was out of the truth also. He had gotten involved in gambling, got divorced, and remarried a casino dealer (got involved with more than just gambling, huh?). Well, a few years ago, I was shocked to find that he also committed suicide. Wow! From leading elder to suicide. Life had to have gone from bad to worse to want to end it. We just don't know how people rationalize their inner struggles. Only they truly know how much pain they are in and this is the only immediate cure they can see.

That is so sad...
I hate that his girlfriend had to be the one to find him. It's so sad that someone that has his whole life in front of him, chooses to make death his only option of escape from reality.

Hi Johnna - not to change the subject but I lived in San Diego for a few years. Just moved away from there recently. I really miss it, especially the weather, the mountains but definitely not the traffic.
