    hi guys

as you know ive been out about a 2 years now.

i recently lent COC and the sequal to a good freind and his wife.

he happens to be an elder in my old hall who still talks to me.

well i saw him recently, and he and his missus told me they agree with every word, but at thier age
it would kill them leaving things.

my mum told me today he did a talk at the meeting and said there were things "WITNESSES SHOULD KNOW"
in case it was brought up on the door.

he went on to talk about the ever changing blood doctrine, the million end of the worlds, prymidology and mexico.

who says you cant change things.

my mum saiod the hall was daedly quiet, and the next day on service they were all talking about it.

    regards

I see a JC meeting in this poor mans future.

Ranchette, sadly I agree with you. But who knows what a difference that one little talk made. If everyone was talking about it the next day in service, then obviously it hit home with some people. We all remember "The Turning Point" when we realized the WTS teachings didn't jive. Perhaps that talk was what plants the seeds for those that heard (and actually listened - haha!)?

Wow Josephus - I'd have loved to have been at THAT meeting!

It's a shame that they think they have no option but to stay in even if they know that it isn't what it claims to be. They have the rest of their lives to live don't they?

I'm sure Spartacus or someone said something along the lines of "Better a free man for a day than a slave for life" (if not, he should have).

Maybe he's decided to save as many others as he can first?

    i agree simon

the elder is a dear feind of mine.

and the thing he said to me tonight when i visited him is that he was guiltly that he had taught false things.

i feel like ive made a disciple in a funny way.

nowadays i feel more cristian than ever.

    regards bro

    Howdy Josephus,

This is a prime example of an elder and his wife who know how to think, and haven't given in to the total WT doctrine of "obey."

We have other prime examples here and on other forums - but it's great knowing that a man stood up for the real truth and his real conscience.

Perhaps fill him in on the Wonderful World of the Web?

Hi Jo, Thanx for sharing this interesting situation with us. Like the others I fear for your friend. Old or not, he and his wife may end up being forced out of their comfort zone once word of his talk spreads to the ears of authority. I expect the CO will be the first one to take action. They will want to know where he got the information, which will incriminate him for associating with apostates. The ball has started rolling for this good man and he may not be able to stop it until it reaches it's inevitable end. Especially bad is that he will be accused of spreading apostasy to the entire congregation - not too many here have stood up and told the assembled group the truths found in COC. Usually d'fing takes place if you have been forthright with just one or two witnesses.

At least he won't feel cheated for not going out in style.
