Last I checked, the gene for sandy coloredness is in the sheeps genetic range. Not saying the sheep is not evolving, but that is not the best example.
THOSE WITH SANDY COLOUR GENE ARE TOUGHER AND REPRODUCE BETTER.
Some people call that adaptation.
Some people call evolution making an eyeball out of an amoeba.
Which aint happening.
Badboy, EWE are not kidding! I'd never heard of these sheep before!
Here is an article with some pictures: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soay_sheep
A relevant quote:
A number of Soay sheep were translocated from Soay to the island of Hirta by the Marquess of Bute in the 1930s, after the human population was evacuated. The Hirta population is unmanaged and has been the subject of scientific study since the 1950s. The population make an ideal model subject for scientists researching evolution, population dynamics and demography because the population is unmanaged, closed (no emigration or immigration) and has no significant competitors or predators.

I think what people don't realise is that evolution is tiny steps, much like this example. One tiny step after another for millions of years is going to produce an animal that looks very different to how it started out.
