Hi All,
My daughter just called me and said to look up at the sky to the left of the moon. There were two huge red glowing areas in the sky. The weather is clear with no clouds. They were not moving and covered two huge areas. Anyone else see it in their area? Never seen anything like it before! Sort of a pastel pink.

A large geomagnetic storm started a few hours ago. You are simply seeing the Northern Lights.

Thank you for clearing that up.. I was wondering what it could be - I remember hearing something about it on the news, but I couldn't remember what it was..How far will one be able to view this event?? I live in Pa and was curious..

That is what I told my daughter when she said maybe the end was comming. I just laughed at her comment. She was never a JW. It was pretty to look at though.

You should be able to see the auroral displays tonight and tomorrow night too, NASA spaceweather says folks in middle latitides should get a show too.

They werent northern lights. They are naughty aliens coming to be nasty to everyone. I think they got lost looking for me.

Same here in southern Finland this morning, red aurora at 5.30 local time and moon visible as well. What a fine sight.
