I actually have the book that that information came from and several others. I worked professionally as a privacy consultant. Most people would be shocked and stunned by what others can find out about you. You have no realistic expectation to privacy in this country unless you take a very strong offensive and are willing to bend the rules.

You have to draw up an effective and life changing plan. To start with, you need to dump your American credit cards and use offshore credit cards or better yet, an offshore anonyomus debit card or E-gold card. This way you don't broadcast your lifestyle by means of what you buy. Use cash as much as possible and only use the credit cards when that isn't an option.

If you have information you normally send by email, do NOT use typical web based email services like Hotmail, Yahoo, etc. instead use encrypted email free services like Hushmail or Ziplip. Your email security is a myth otherwise.

Like most Americans, you probably have an extensive paper trail that is easy to obtain. I can without the slightest difficulty obtain your driving record, credit records, employment history, legal history, and even school records. With more difficulty, I can obtain your medical records, and some court documents. To eliminate the massive paper trail you have already laid with your life is both expensive and time consuming. Most people who are serious about protecting their privacy take legal steps to change their SSN, and even their name and address.
