Hello everyone. With being on this board for over a month now, and reading many posts, I have never clearly been able to determine the root word of the term "dub". I am just curious, any ideas? Is it based on being "dubbed"? For some reason I crack up when anyone refers to a JW as a "dub", lol :)

Well it comes from the JW initials, pronounced JAY DUBBLE-YOU. Then it gets shortened to Jay-Dub, and finally just "dub."

I was just about to say that the root word is "dumb", but pronounced with a silent "m".
