Its wonderful to see this graceful lady back in service. I watched the first take off for over a year from London live on Sky TV, and a few minutes later went outside where I heard the muffled double boom as Alpha Echo went through the sound barrier over the Bristol Channel on its way to JFK where it will be welcomed by Mayor Giuliani.
This afternoon,immediately following Question Time, Prime Minister Tony Blair boards Concorde Alpha Foxtrot bound for Washington and a meeting with George W. The flight will take just over 3 hours, so he arrives before he leaves, time wise.
There's no particular reason for me posting this, it was just a nice moment and I wanted to talk about it. The thought that this great plane that many thought was finished landing at a place that some also thought was finished is rather pleasant
