The doctrine of “Salvation” provides the meaningful context to subjects such as the vindication of God; the Nature of Deity; the Kingdom; the death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ; Blood; the Gospel; the Law of God; the Return of Christ; and more.
Wedge politics on these other subjects are attempts to introduce diversions from the most important doctrine of Salvation. When a person realises that God offers salvation as a free gift, based on the completed work of Jesus Christ, and that its benefits start to become available here and now, then the futility of arguing about these other subjects are made clear.
Arguments about doctrinal differences are used by religious manipulators to gain control of people’s minds and lives. These manipulators use these arguments to create separation between individuals, within families, and between nations, creating tension, separation, war and death. The actions of these religious manipulators are unbelievably despicable and stand in stark contrast to the True Gospel, which is wonderfully simple and simply wonderful.
In the Introduction to his book, “The Atonement”, Leon Morris wrote:
“We are saved, not by some theory and not by some blinding revelation and certainly not by our own best effort, but by Christ’s atoning death. Therefore any really serious attempt to understand the Christian way must begin with the cross. Unless we come to see what the cross means we do not understand Christianity, real Christianity in the sense the New Testament writers gave to it. The cross is absolutely central.” (page 12)
Leon Morris makes an excellent presentation on Salvation in his book, “The Cross in the New Testament”, and this Chapter is available (4 MB) at:
