I was delivering a load of freight to a "Tuesday Morning" store in Gretna Florida last week...while there I did some shopping and found this Lucky Country Aussie Black Licorice it was $5 for a 1lb package...I thought it was a little steep but I love black licorice and took a chance...blew me away the best black licorice I have ever had anyone else ever heard of this licorice...

No I have not heard of it, but I want some now! I always go to World market so I can buy that Black kitty licorice that I used to get at the co-op as a kid. It was very strong and salty came in a green bag from Germany I believe. I have a tin of it around here, but I don't have the label because when I ate all of the crystalized ginger, I put my licorice in. Damn. Anyhow, before I prattle on, I love licorice.

Thanks, my mom loves black licorice, she's also been wanting these black licorice cough drops for ages maybe they will have some. You can only get them in the U.S.

Apparently, there were fields upon fields of it grown until fairly recently (maybe the 1970 - 80's) As you can see from the website - it's undergoing a bit of a revival
Edit: I remember being able to buy sticks of liquorice root to chew on too - I think I was the only kid who actually loved it!
