I think my relative and his spouse have switched Kingdom Halls. This new Hall that they're attending is MUCH farther away from their house.

Why would JWs leave their old Hall and attend one so far away from where they live?? Curious. (we have never been JWs)

    Thanks for any replies!

    Lots of possibilities...

-- The new congregation "needs help", and the CO assigned them there

-- They had a problem with someone in the old congregation

-- They had a problem with the elders in the old congregation

-- They are trying to "fade", and this will facilitate it

-- They are close friends with someone in the new congregation

I could never understand why a person is assigned a time and place to go to worship. Shouldn't it be up to the individual when and where to worship their god?

Well it should be that way but its the RULES, you must follow direction. and of course they could not keep track of your activities if you went where ever you wanted. Then you would be

also given the scripture to " be obedient to those taking the lead" case scenario.

If you go to another hell that's farther away, that also means the hounders are going to have to drive that much farther to hound you. And, if you randomly go to both congregations and then leave both of them hanging, they will not be able to figure out whose turn it is to hound you, and you might just be able to fade that much easier.

Wouldn't they just hound a person at their house.....or by phone?
