WOW now if the southern USA will follow Turkey's lead the world might live in peace for a bit.

Turkey after Kemal Attatourk back in the 1920's became a "democratic"nation. But the Army is the guardian of the "democratic" state in Turkey. It is much better from other islamic countries, but lately there is a turn back to Islamic roots, with the Islamic party in power, and Islamist foundamentalists to have an increase.
But people hold their muslim fanatism, and there are many behind the scenes that they don't show outside. I have the unfortunate luck to have my country a 37% since 1974, of our land occupied by Turks. To see a democratic Turkey it will take at least decades and that is not so sure if they will change.
This is the result of the Turkey occupation of our land: 10.000 killed in 1974, 200,000 (in a population of 500,000)refugees in their own land, 1700 missing persons including small babies and children and Turkey does not say what happened to this people. Our Churches have been destroyed completely, our graveyards, and Turkey is trying to wipe out a 2000 years Christian History in Cyprus.
