Father attacked his X with an axe here in Sacrament yesterday, abducted his 2 year old son and stabbed him to death with a screwdriver, didnt have enough guts to off himself though.

This is a 'well known' human response by a mother or a father who, feeling they are on the ropes and falling without chance of getting up, assess whether they think it even viable to leave their offspring to forces beyond their protection and the unkown sufferings they will undoubtedly face - especially when religion/ media hypes up all the troubles in the world for them, and thus feel they are delivering a heart wrenching 'forced kindness' in taking their lives before their own!
It is a well understood phenomena but tragic in the extreme!
Most usually deliverd by individuals feeling long term rejection, lack of love, lack of prospects and likely feeling dependant on others beyond any chance of recovery. There are many humans right now who feel both total failures and total responsibility for loved ones!
The pressure is immense and relentless! Does one suicide and 'desert' ones you love or be brave enough to take them along? That is what they feel!
Lack of love and support at a deeply personal level isolates any individual any time anyplace! When coupled with low or no income or other serious problems it is inevitable further ones will follow and be difficult to turn around the boat getting pushed to the edge of the falls!
Rescue is needed to save all and help one lead who who is only too willing to do the rest! But all too often the leader is under pressure and threat of being removed for having gotten evryone along with them to where they are at!
I see lots of similar scenarios! It is sad humanity devalues people to points where it rejects them for all their efforts and focuses on any weakness as if no true grit were present!
A very sad outcome and I wonder how close this guy was to being helped to switch into a responsible father if he saw systems in place which guaranteed help and him being included?
