Over the years there have been brothers in the congregation that you just knew had to be gay but everybody just accepted them. Some even got to be servants or elders. Anyone here fit that description yourself? What was that like knowing the Society's stand on the issue? Were you sincere about "the truth"?
Not that there's anything wrong with it

There are alot of them like that in the JW's, They simply used the excuse "putting kingdom interests first" when asked about dating.

Yeah, I was one of "them" that even became an elder. It was crushingly depressing at times.
Was I sincere? Not about it being the truth, but the love for the people I grew up with and my family was immense and the reason I took so long to get out.
JG, you are such an authority on this arent you,

Yeah, I guess.

They wanted to force me into being "gay", which would have meant celibacy. That would have fit their image of me being in that Value Destroyer Training School.

I only knew of two bros where I suspected homosexuality, and my suspicions were confirmed for one of them when he came out of the closet and was promptly DF'd. It was really ridiculous. I mean, I knew this guy from the time he was 10 or 11 years old, and he was so obviously gay even back then.
Dear x,
We're not stupid, we knew you were gay all along. But now we're going to shun you for the rest of your life since you got baptized when you were 12 but now as an adult you have finally admitted what, again, was completely fucking obvious all along.
Sincerely,
Your JW friends and family

We had a single brother (in his 30's single) that talked with a lisp and one day out in service the group stopped by his house for ice tea at our break...he had every "Wizard of Oz" memento you could imagine...he was a ms and very active in JWdome...
