Hi friends!
I'm working on a letter to a zealus bethelite relative. The issue is the WTS habbit of unhonesty, half truths and holding back information that is not good for the Society.
Do you guys have any good samples to share from the litterature?

There are a number of dishonest quotes that you can refer to from the following pages, though it will take a bit of work wading through it all.
http://www.jwfacts.com/index_files/earthquakes.htm Incorrect information given in the Watchtower regarding an increase of earthquakes
http://www.jwfacts.com/index_files/1914dates.htm Modern day Watchtower lies regarding what they used to say prior to 1914
http://www.jwfacts.com/index_files/un.htm UN cover up
http://www.jwfacts.com/index_files/divorce.htm dishonest indications that JW's have a lower divorce rate
http://www.jwfacts.com/index_files/Jehovah.htm inclusion of the word Jehovah in the NWT New Testament
http://www.jwfacts.com/index_files/prophet.htm claiming they never said they were a prophet giving information in the name of Jehovah
hey jw facts...what about adding this quote to the fact that they claim they never "prophesied in Jehovah's name"
*** w84 5/15 pp. 6-7 1914—The Generation That Will Not Pass Away ***
Jehovah’s prophetic word through Christ Jesus is: “This generation [of 1914] will by no means pass away until all things occur.” (Luke 21:32) And Jehovah, who is the source of inspired and unfailing prophecy, will bring about the fulfillment of his Son’s words in a relatively short time
that statement contradicts this one
"Jehovah's Witnesses, in their eagerness for Jesus' second coming, have suggested dates that turned out to be incorrect. Because of this, some have called them false prophets. Never in these instances, however, did they presume to originate predictions 'in the name of Jehovah.' Never did they say, 'These are the words of Jehovah.'" Awake! 1993 Mar. 22 p.4
To me, the most blatent untruth, and half truth occurs within the NWT reference Bible. Nobody has the right to claim and teach the Bible is Gods inspired word to mankind, but that it is not quite right, so they make changes to it to suit their fancy.....................oompa

Rbi8pp.1564-15651DTheDivineNameintheChristianGreekScriptures***There is evidence that Jesus’ disciples used the Tetragrammaton in their writings.(you will notice that the following quote contains zero evidence of this, because there is none, and in fact Jerome would have made a very big deal about it if he found any use of the divine name by Mathew) In his work Devirisinlustribus [ConcerningIllustriousMen], chapter III, Jerome, in the fourth century, wrote the following: "Matthew, who is also Levi, and who from a publican came to be an apostle, first of all composed a Gospel of Christ in Judaea in the Hebrew language and characters for the benefit of those of the circumcision who had believed. Who translated it after that in Greek is not sufficiently ascertained. Moreover, the Hebrew itself is preserved to this day in the library at Caesarea, which the martyr Pamphilus so diligently collected. I also was allowed by the Nazarenes who use this volume in the Syrian city of Beroea to copy it." (Translation from the Latin text edited by E. C. Richardson and published in the series "Texte und Untersuchungen zur Geschichte der altchristlichen Literatur," Vol. 14, Leipzig, 1896, pp. 8, 9.)
Matthew made more than a hundred quotations from the inspired Hebrew Scriptures. Where these quotations included the divine name he would have been obliged faithfully to include the Tetragrammaton in his Hebrew Gospel account.(this is a very false assumption, the divine name had long been considered too sacred to say, use, or write) When the Gospel of Matthew was translated into Greek, the Tetragrammaton was left untranslated within the Greek text according to the practice of that time. (this too is a very false assumption, the divine name had long been considered too sacred to say, use, or write
Not only Matthew but all the writers of the Christian Greek Scriptures quoted verses from the Hebrew text or from the Septuagint where the divine name appears. For example, in Peter’s speech in Ac 3:22 a quotation is made from De 18:15 where the Tetragrammaton appears in a papyrus fragment of the Septuagint dated to the first century B.C.E. (See App 1C §1.) As a follower of Christ, Peter used God’s name, Jehovah. (this is pure fantasy!!! There is zero manuscript evidence to support this!) When Peter’s speech was put on record the Tetragrammaton was here used according to the practice during the first century B.C.E. and the first century C.E. (Holy Cow!! They already refuted this point a few pages earlier here: ***Rbi8p.15621BScribalChangesInvolvingtheDivineName***. From time immemorial the Jewish canons decreed that the incommunicable name is to be pronounced Adonai as if it were written ???? [’Adho·nai´] instead of ???? [YHWH]. Nothing was, therefore, more natural for the copyists than to substitute the expression which exhibited the pronunciation for the Tetragrammaton which they were forbiden to pronounce."
Sometime during the second or third century C.E. the scribes removed the Tetragrammaton from both the Septuagint and the Christian Greek Scriptures and replaced it with Ky´ri·os, "Lord" or The·os´, "God." (knock yourself out trying to get any evidence from WT to support this position...I have tried....they have a magic ball or something)
Concerning the use of the Tetragrammaton
To know where the divine name was replaced by the Greek words ? ? ???? and Te ? ?, we have determined where the inspired Christian writers have quoted verses, passages and expressions from the Hebrew Scriptures and then we have referred back to the Hebrew text to ascertain whether the divine name appears there. In this way we determined the identity to give Ky´ri·os and The·os´ and the personality with which to clothe them. While all the above points are untruths, this is the big halftruth. They have "restored the divine name" where the NT quotes the OT, but it does not tell you they also put the name Jehovah in the NT wherever they wanted to, dozens of times where it is NOT a quote. Like every use in Revelation, despite Rev. 22: 18, 19 saying you can't change a word."
Excellent point Oompa!
That is what they rest their own status on!
Its the reason people fall for the old FDS trickery having divine connections!
A sorta lie within a spiral of a lie!
Here is an example from the Awake! magazine.
