When I was in high school I took Art. One semester we did oil paintings. One of my paintings was very Salvador Dali-ish. It consisted of a red rose, a clock, and a few drops of blood against a black background. The rose represented the forbidden love I had for a worldly girl in school. The clock meant time was running out for the world. The blood represented the girl's death in the big "A". That was twenty years ago. Funny how twisted your world-view becomes when filtered through the teachings of the Borg (and Depeche Mode album covers)!
Strange painting of a rose, a clock, and some blood

Sounds a lot like me in high school... I don't know how I lived with the belief that the woman I loved would die very shortly.
