Sorry if this has been discussed before, but can anyone confirm if the official line has changed with instructions to elders on reporting cases of child abuse to the authorities?
Changes in light of recent court cases?

Probably to pressure the elders to call WT Legal before doing anything.

Throughout all of this I have yet to find that they've changed their policies regarding reporting of alleged child molestation to the police in ALL states (not just where they have to) and of doing so in a responsbile manner, and of disregarding the "two-witness" rule. Any policies they do change are in order to cover their own butts.

How the heck can the Witnesses brag that they don't have a clergy while they petition a United States court for clergy recognition at the same time. Doesn't that just chap your ass?

Exactly!
If we can remember a simple "zinger" like this when the subject comes up, I think it will at least plant a seed of question or doubt in JW's minds.

I haven't heard of any changes.....calling legal for all reports of abuse (domestic and sexual) has been standard for some time.
Reporting to the "higher" authorities is dependent on local/state laws, I still believe it is suggested that the call be made from a telephone booth and done anonymously.
