    Hello,

Do any of you who keep up with a musical life know whether Arthur Lee ( Love - 'Forever Changes' ) is out of gaol yet and if so where he was last spotted?

A long shot but somebody may know - HS

lol - A gaol is a very English way of saying prison. Sounds a little less threatening.

I found this for you, maybe it will help. It is dated November 14, 2001.

USA, (WASARRESTED) -- A man who police say boasted about his criminal exploits and dared them to catch him was captured today, hiding in his mother's home.
Arthur Lee is suspected of selling crack cocaine to elementary school kids, sometimes while dressed in drag.
Lee, who authorities say is a sick and demented criminal, surprised police by mailing them a videotape of himself and a long-written confession, with his photo at the bottom of each page.
In the videotape, Lee taunted police by saying, "Humuhumu-nukunuku-a-pua`a", (a fish that makes strange grunting noises when taken out of the water.)
Police spokesman, Lt. Jim Bob, said that was the last straw. First he sells crack cocaine to elementary school kids, now he's making fun of us with a weird grunting pig-fish.
He said Lee was captured at 3:00pm in his mother's home.

Sorry, wrong Arthur Lee. I also found an Arthur Lee that plays basketball for Stanford. I found this page. Sorry, but I guess I am useless in this topic.

Lee would have been sentenced to nine months in jail if he had pled guilty. Instead, he fought the case and lost. With enhancements attached to the charge because of his prior felony conviction and the other events of that month, the court threw the book at him: 12 years, of which he must serve a minimum of nine years.

I believe he was sentenced in 1995, so he is still in prison for three more years.

    Hello Notperfect,

Yes, Arthur and Maclean had some magic.

I lost track of Arthur a dozen years ago. We shared a little madness together in the early 70's. He always was a very highly strung person and walked around with his talent hanging out, but most songs I hear seem to have a little of himself lurking there.

Bacharach almost spontaneously exploded into flames when 'Little Red Book' was released. I am pleased he did not hear the take that they did later with Suranovitch drumming and thankfully never released, it was recorded when Lee was on a float, it would have bought on Armageddon.
