I did for the first time last night. Some friends came to town and were looking for a hotel room and asked me to do a Priceline search. They hadn't used it before either. Anyway, they ended up paying $50 for a room at the newest hotel in town. Advertised rates start at $149. I noticed Priceline also has flights and other services besides hotels. Anyone ever use Priceline for airlines and vacations and what did you think of the service? I was pretty impressed with the result last night and will no doubt start using it whenever I travel.

I have used Priceline for travel. The problem comes in this way- you bid on a round-trip flight
and give your credit information. If they accept your bid, you are stuck with the flight even if
it is at 6 am or 10 pm on either end of your trip.

That means that you might waste all day of a vacation, perhaps wasting 2 days if you get
a late start on the beginning day and an early morning start on the return day. If you just
need to fly cheaper and that's not an issue, then it's great.

Rental cars- if you know the going rate and undercut it, you might wind up with a great
deal on Priceline. I usually had to resubmit a few times, but often wound up paying the
economy car rate for a full size or other upgrade. I have done that often on Priceline.

I love it! I always save a bundle on airline tix. Hotwire is good, too.
