Has anyone ever done any gold panning or metal detecting? I saw a show on it not that long ago and it looked like fun - same as gem mining in Nevada. Just curious. sammieswife.

I have twice, have some pretty new ridged plastic pans (green) and collection kit.....I love the outdoors, creeks, rivers....heck out there you are just a big kid playin in the creek, and having fun....so you might as well find some dust or more..........................lots on the net.........have fun.........oompa

This winter my husband and I watched a show were the woman goes different places searching for treasures . I am so hooked ! So I bought myself a metal detector .....waiting for warm weather to go out and use it .
I have always wanted to pan for gold . My neighbor has land somewhere in Georgia and he brings buckets of dirt back and then pans for gold in his driveway . It has proven to be very profitable for him . Seeing those little flakes of gold glittering in the sunlight I can understand why people were gold crazy in the gold rush days .

too much work for me. There is much gold in the mountains around me. They still find some north of here in Dalonega Ga

no but I would love to. I watch gold fever whenever it's on. but alas not many claims in indiana.
