Three weeks ago, I went to my first birthday celebration. It was a dear friend from high school, now turned 40. At this gathering, I met people I hadn't seen in over 20 years!! Lost years for me, but I'm not complaining.

Tonight my sister celebrated her 39th, at her in-laws' home. Again, it was a nice time for general companionship and conversation. My sister opened her presents, and there was a modest cake.

Nobody's head has been severed as a result of either of these celebrations, and the world didn't end.

I just had a couple of very nice, memorable occasions.

    HI Gopher,

I'm glad you are enjoying these experiences.

Like, WOW! I'm still here! A big hole in the ground didn't open up and swallow me! And NO demons jumped out of the birthday cake!! Imagine the suprise!

Who thought she was toast because she just WANTED to go to a birthday celebration.

Well I should hope not! Isn't it such a freeing feeling to do something just for the fun of it? I always enjoy holidays I am glad you had fun, and are tasting this side a bit.
