Hope that is so true of cats, my last cat did the exact same thing every morning if you didn't get up at the time he expected (mostly weekends).
He was a fluffy longhaired orange cat, just gorgeous but very demanding of attention in a funny mischievious way. He would jump up on me and do the same thing as in the cartoon. kneading me on my stomach, then licking my ear or meowing at me. No baseball bat thank goodness. I would push him off the bed repeatedly, but he didn't give up with that. I wish I had a video of his antics to get you out of bed. He then would go to the window in my bedroom and bat the venetian blinds with his paw repeatedly (very irritating noise) until you sat up and told him to stop. Then he would race out of the room and go downstairs and hide hoping you would follow him. If you didn't he would creep back upstairs and bang the blinds again and wouldn't stop until you got up and dealt with him. We usually ended up trying to catch him and put him in the basement with the door closed so we could sleep in. He race merrily around so you couldn't catch him. By then you were all awake and didn't feel like going back to bed.
He is still alive but not living with me now. My husband died and Orange went to live with some friends when I started travelling a lot after his death. I really miss him now especially when I see things like that Cartoon.
Gotta love them, they are so smart and funny and sweet.
