Was he a JW or something? He says the end is starting now in 2008 and the USA will be going down into destruction along with the other english speaking nations and also Jews and Islam. He wrote a book and says he is the prophet of God for the last days before the Kingdom of God is established in the earth. Anyone heard of him? World War III is on the way this year.

I think he was formerly affiliated with the World Church of God (WCG) that was started by Armstrong.
He is an off-shoot of Herbert Armstrong's Church of God. Holds to the teachings of Armstrong, including keeping certain OT laws, such as sabbath, tithing, dietary, and festival observance. He believes he and his wife are the two witnesses of Revelation. Some believe that Armstrong borrowed from the JW's and see certain parallels between their teachings.
If the destruction does not come in 2008, that would make him false prophet.
the guy is nuts. he most recently stated that the first horn blew, but wont tell what happened , but stated all seen and heard it. He also stated he and most recently, his wife , are the two witnesses preaching in sack cloth. all of your salvation depends on him and his wife.

Yep, he was a member of Armstrong's Worldwide Church of God, when the Church fell apart after Armstrong died, there were about 350 splinter groups that were formed, Weiland was one of them. he wrote a latter to all the leasders of the various splinters and told them they were all going to doe at armageddon unless they accepted him as their prophet!
