In Acts 1:5 it says that John baptised in water, but that who he was talking to would hereafter be baptised in holy spirit. Does that mean that they would not be baptised in water thereafter?

This is a great question, I would like to know the opinions of the boards to this as well.
Anyone?

There is another scripture - not too sure where, but it's says **insert name** baptises in water......but that it's the baptism of the spirit that was more important - or something like that - I could be getting stuff mixed up.

then you've also got to ask yourself - should you take that scripture literally. I mean in a figurative sense - water is nessessary for life - in the christian world so is the word / spirit of god. therefore one should be baptised by the spirit/word/fire of god and not literal water.
Things are but a shadow.

I believe we can just baptise each other with the right words and spirt.
