Just read a recent Awake on Fen Shui and it's pagan origins and it made me wonder if they have ever printed a similar article on pyramidology, considering Russell's preoccupation with it?
I would appreciate any articles as my w.library is still not working.
(please no more pictures of pyramids though)!!

I can't believe it... what else are they going to pick on??? Feng Shui is now an artform for your home or office. Sheez!

Feng Shui is just a study of the flow of energy thoughout a given space, just like chakras are a flow of energy in the body. Of course there was a time when this was also considered pagan; however, now there is scientific evidence about chakras and their energy flows.
It is so sad that people try to cut off learning by making anything they don't understand or agree with pagan, or from the devil or wrong. Jehovah Witnesses also believe the carbon dating, the process used to say how old something is, is also wrong. Since man has only been here less than 7,000 years, according to JW, a scientific method that shows bones over one million years old has to wrong. Of course, there are now documented, scientific JW studies to prove their belief, and many scientific studies to prove the correctness of carbon dating.
How very, very sad!

*** w56 5/15 297 The Great Pyramid of Giza ***
Product of the true worship or the false?…..Awake 10/10/1934 pages 26-8; Awake 9/14/1932 pages 775-6

For some 35 years, Pastor Russell thought that the Great Pyramid of Gizeh was God’s stone witness, corroborating Biblical time periods. (Isa. 19:19) But Jehovah’s Witnesses have abandoned the idea that an Egyptian pyramid has anything to do with true worship. (See “Watchtower” issues of November 15 and December 1, 1928) -

Didn't Russel say:" I am a free mason"? Doesn't this link the Watchtower with the free masons? When you look at the Watchtower Seal, you can see the ties to the free masons are still there.

This is what I HATE about the watchtower.
A dub I know was doing yoga since this was one of the few forms of gentle excersize she could do. Then she was referred by a "loving" sister to an article which condemned it. She had to give up.
Now Feng Shui???? If I remember rightly, it advices good use of colour in your home, enhancing the light etc. This is good advice!
Im also not happy about this because I keep telling my JW family who I live with that my candles, incense and crystals are feng shui (not paganism) argh! LOL! I've blown it.

Thanks for the quote showing they admitted having received new light on pyramids. You only quoted the one statement, but I thought it was quite frank for the GB to be honest. I mean, they normally say nothing about past errors, or even blasphemously blame God saying that he is revealing his secrets at the correct time.
Just think how they could improve the Awake. They could take (what I find) an interesting subject such as pyramids and explain in detail why Russell believed what he did, why he was wrong, what is interesting about pyramids (math and archaeology and science); an article you would really get your teeth into without the regergitated crap they normally print. They could even leave space for the final paragraph (happy ending) with a scripture or two.
I think JWs would love to read about their predecesors beliefs. They could even do follow up issues on 1975, changes in blood policy, UN membership etc.
I would read it.
