You think we've got problems????
Just watched Sharkwater - one of the most beautiful and moving films I've watched in a long time.
These guys need protecting - we can't leave it to Jehovah, IT'S TIME TO STEP UP.
Please watch it and help make a difference - I want sharks to be around when my 3 year old who adores them, grows up.
90% of the WORLD'S SHARKS ARE GONE and experts estimate that WITHIN A DECADE most species of sharks will be lost because of longlining.

Haven't seen it but as I recall the Japanese are the big culprits in this wasteful method. They are also the country that was most reluctant to stop killing off the whales.

The film highlights the mass consumption of Shark Fin Soup/Medicine in the Eastern World - the demand is a result of the misguided belief that shark fins imbue one with power, vitality and health. Ironically shark fins/cartilage don't provide any beneifts to human health. Also, serving shark fin soup to your guests is a sign of great wealth - people often serve it at weddings. to impress their guests.
These people need to wake up in a hurry and realise the stupidity of their actions.
