I was thinking that we could spend the Memorial evening doing the exact opposite of what we used to do.

    • smile and laugh
    • have fun
    • dress comfortably
    • eat leavened bread with your friends while they also partake in the same meal
    • be noisy
    • don't think or talk about death or torture for the whole day
    • discuss how barbaric and unloving human sacrifice is
    • sit in comfortable chairs
    • listen to good music and don't sing along
    • be real--don't love bomb or behave in a fake way to impress outsiders

    Can't read those quotes?

Drink a large glass of red wine rather than watch it sailing by. Talk to someone who really cares about you. Invite some people around to eat your favourite meal. Greater love hath no woman than this, than to lay fork and knife on behalf of her friends.

Sounds like a fantastic plan :)

I've been doing that for years. I have a beer at the local pub while the family Dubs have their annual 'Pretend Jesis is Important' scam.

I guess it would be good after sundown on Friday, April 3, 2015 to at least reflect for a moment how ridiculous the JW celebration of the Memorial is, where they pass the emblems by all the non-anointed (normal) people, who are not supposed to partake at all. Looking at it from the outside, I can see that this exercise in futility is really just a psychological tactic by the WT to reinforce the lowly position of all the non-anointed in their pecking order. We should be glad that we don’t have to be held captive to that dull charade. (And for those of us like myself who still get dragged to that fun-filled event every year, at least we know that we don’t have to take it seriously, at least in our own mind.) That evening should really be a time to appreciate the true freedom we have by learning TTATT. That evening, just do something nice for someone else and for yourself. Just celebrate life itself. That’s what it’s for.

I prefer it when I don't even think about it, the date passes by, and I have enjoyed the day as I usually do, without noticing that upon that evening JW's will not be enjoying themselves, apart from the "sisters" with new outfits perhaps.

You could also read a book that's worth reading. Maybe something more upbuilding than tales of genocide, mutilation, human sacrifice, etc.

It's on a Friday night this year. I can think of hundreds and hundreds of better things to do with a springtime Friday evening.
