A serious crime, I would report it (and by serious, I mean a crime where initiatory force, threat of force, or fraud was involved and the person could be a danger to society). Otherwise, I would just mind my business.

My concience would have me ask him what he thinks he should do. Theft..money crimes etc in my mind are crimes from personal weakness or lazyness and the person needs to deal with that from within
If the guy just told me he was "son of sam" or a rapists I would turn him in right away.

I think there is wt literature on this, someone can find it. I think there was a case in FL about a guy who smoked pot was also possibly involved in a murder , their main concern was that he quit smoking doobie. Something like that, if I can find it in my favorites I will post it.
