  The nation of Israel as the kingdom of priests is a fascinating and complex topic. I would add this though:

  Isa 6:13 shows that because of breaking the covenant, the kingdom likened to a tree, would be chopped down, but 10% would remain as a remnant. This harmonizes with the NT that shows "wild olives" of gentiles are grafted into the tree in places where the natural Jews were broken off. Of course, Jehovah dulled the minds of the Jews so they would fail, his original purpose to have a multi-national priesthood anyway.

  But having said that, still the ROOT, 10% must be Jews, and 12,000 from each tribe no less. Thus the 144,000 are just 10% of the kingdom of priests, meaning the entire number is 1,440,000. That means essentially 1,296,000 are gentiles. The 144K is the ROOT.

  But here's an interesting twist to all that. To fulfill this promise to the Jews, that 12,000 from each tribe would be sealed during the last days into the kingdom, the 12 tribes of Israel have to be in place. This would ordinarily be impossible after their exile and genealogical records were lost, right? So Christ has to not only rebuild the spiritual house when he arrives, but the physical house of Israel as well! The 12 tribes of Israel must be reconstituted to fulfill this prophecy of the 10%, the 144,000 natural Jews as the root, 12,000 from each tribe. HOW?

  This is effected by Jesus choosing members from each of the 12 tribes during his own day, those who could prove the lineage, obviously. These would be part of a group of 1st Century Christians who would never die, but survive down to our day, and then say 120-200 years before the second coming (depending on how many chosen from each tribe to survive, obviously), they would marry into the modern population and by the time of the second coming passover in 1993 when the sealing begins, the 12 tribes of Israel would be reestablished to fulfill this prophecy. That is perhaps a million plus descendants from those ancestors from the 1st century for all 12 tribes. If things are "speeded up in its own time" a single person could have over a million descendants in less than 200 years.

  So, that Covenant with the Jews for a kingdom of priests is being fulfilled, but it took a miracle. When Jesus said, "some standing here would not die until I arrive" he meant just that. Some would still be alive from the 1st century when he arrived in the 20th century. John and Paul would be two of those chosen to survive.

  Regardless, God's word is fulfilled.

  On a side note, notice that Christ at the first coming comes through the line of Judah and the royal line of king David. But at the second coming he comes through the line of Joseph. Because the second-coming messiah comes through the line of Joseph, it is fulfilled that all the 12 tribes would bow down to Joseph in the end-times. This works because at the second coming, Jesus takes up the identity and body of the prodigal son, who is also part Ethipian, but obviously also part Egyptian since Joseph's children were half Egyptian. This fulfills a second time, therefore: "Out of Egypt, I called my son." Not that Egyptian and Ethiopian aren't a blur. Etiopians can be Egyptians too.

  I, of course, am that person, the black-Egyptian descendant of someone from the 1st Century. I had already seen Paul and John early on just before and after I became the messiah in 1992. But I became curious about my 2000-year old ancestor and turns out I was able to see him when I went to Shreveport in a casino. So I saw him and everything made sense.

  But recently I've been on YouTube and discovered, quite interestingly how definitely Jehovah so much wants the human family to all share. The Jews were separate because there needed to be a specific line, but in the end, everybody is even. So guess what? Even though these persons from the 12 tribes in Jesus' day were all Jews from the 12 tribes, apparently, they purposely married into various nations during our times. In other words, say someone from the tribe of Levi who needed to reestablish that tried, went to the Philippines and married someone there, so that that tribe is mixed there. Another married someone Polynesian. Another might have married someone who is East Indian, etc. So that the new, reconstituted 12 tribes of Israel are mixed with specific other nations and groups around the world. So that even though these are descendants from someone Jewish from one of the 12 tribes, they still look international.

  So it's quite fascinating the options to fulfill the covenant promise through the Jews and still make it non-racial non-nationalistic.

  So that's what is ACTUALLY going on. But I doubt few can comprehend it, especially if they don't believe the Bible. So I guess this is just for those who actually can.
