Does anyone have AT&T U-Verse?

  I was wondering because I am having it installed Thursday (and could have had it installed tomorrow but I have to work).

  Currently I have AT&T phone and DSL with DISH Network. I wanted to upgrade to HD on the DISH, so I called AT&T who the service is billed through. Lo and behold, the clouds parted, the sun started shining, and the CSR, who was in the good old US of A not freaking India... told me that U-Verse was now available to me. yipppeee.....

  So for about the same price as I was paying (+$20 to upgrade to HD) PLUS I get a DVR which I dont have now...yet...I will pay the same price for AT&T phone with high speed nternet and HD TV through AT&T U-Verse..... even better...my 18 month contract with DISH ended this month....and I have no complaints about DISH (other than an occasional weather related interference)...but I bet I like Uverse better....

  I had seen the new U-Verse neighborhood equipment installed around the corner from me... but thought it wasnt active yet...it just and I mean just this month became available on my street.......

  I am as happy as a kid in a candy store with this unexpected bit of good news ...I know I need a life..and I dont watch that much TV to be honest....but spend a ton of time on the net........LOL...

  anyone with experience with this service?

  wow..talk about dead threads...

  but then again..it turns out i am the first person in my town to get the service..the techs were shocked...they were not planning any installs for another month or so..

  I havent had a lot of time to play with the tv/DVD/HD service..but the net is a bit faster.... and a better signal.

  horrible life

  Snakes, I will be waiting to find out, how you like it. I don't want their cellular. Been watching the commercials, but havent' looked any furrther. We only have 50 channels on our Cable, including the CBS NBC ABC FOX. I looked into Direct, and found I would have to pay extra for these. (What I should get totally free,) So, I thought they all would be like this. I live in such a hick town!!!

  I pay 55.00 for cable. No special channels!! Just expanded basic. Phone is unreasonable, no long distance calls, we use cell for those. Already have their DSL. Love it. Can't believe how fast it is. I have what they call Two Wire?? Please be sure to tell me how you like it. H/L

  so far I love it... I have a very strong signal...(I am only about 300 wire feet from the new neighborhood box if that... less than 100ft as the crow flies). Anyone within 3000 ft (little more than half mile as the wires run) can get it.... I only notice every once in a while a weird pixelating...very brief...and you really have to be looking for it to catch it....but never like satellite......

  I havent used my DVR yet (150 hours of digital recording or 24 hours of HD recording) ....that should be interesting..right now ironically I havent alot of time to watch tv.... I do use my internet a lot for school, work, and of course here..... and it is a heck of a lot faster... I just tested ....my upload speed is 1474 kbps and download is 949 kbps... quite a bit faster than my connections with AT&T (SBC) DSL service...

  Supposedly I am the first person in our town to get the service (I met someone today in another nearby town who has had it 2 months). AT&T is really rolling this out quietly to get the bugs out..not a lot of marketing going on..this is intentional I was told by their reps... they are going to do some major software updates at the end of the year to introduce some cool features that link the computer and the tv together with home stereos, etc....

  I will let you know more as I get used to it... but I love my HD...lol
