Trouble Breathing?

Are you having trouble breathing - asthma, COPD, emphysema, other?

It's really getting rough here in northern California. We can barely see the trees at a short distance. Headaches, malaise, sore throats ...

The current fires might be extinguished by August.

    Maybe ...

How are you doing (with or without the smoke)?

    Where there's smoke there's fire.

Good Morning CoCo.......Here in Michigan we don't have fires. Maybe camp fires. However, I have been thinking of all of our friends here that like yourself live in Ca. Just wondering how many of you are that close to the heat. I was talking with Flipper a couple weeks ago and he was in the process of clearing out dead brush just in case.

We do have alot of weeds in bloom that make it difficult for people with respiratory problems. My wife is one of them , Asthma. We almost lost her last year do to another breathing problem she has, Trachial Malashia. It's a collapsing of the Trachia. Perhaps one day we can talk on the phone and I'll tell you more about it.

Anyways, I hope all of our friends in Ca. are safe and that the fires will subside soon.

    Thank you, NMG:

I hope your wife is better and in a safe place. I've never heard of that condition. Pretty scary. I've been blue a few times (not the sad kind).

Forgot to mention - it's nearly 110 degrees here daily.

I appreciate your reply and wish you and yours the very best.

we are near Chico Ca and it's impossible. I'm considering leaving the area for a few days. My dad has emphysema and this is real trouble. We're staying indoors but its getting worse by the hour. I've never experienced this before. Many I know in the Paradise area are in real distress. Two have lost houses and one is on cautionary evacuation. Eyes burn and throats too and I'm not even outside. W.Once

Here in Australia we had bush fire in the distance behind my house....by the time the fire Dep. came it was an inferno which reached my back fence.....I remember thinking.....OH CRAP there goes the house! But they stopped it just short of the house {other side bushland was all gone. We had to leave the city for a while, since we couldn't handle the smoke...went on un-planned holidays....we have no illnesses it was just too hard to breath.

Any rain in the forecast? Does it even help much with the fires? I don't know how y'all cope with that kind of ongoing drama ... must take its toll emotionally as well...so sorry you are going through this on an almost annual basis, it seems.

    Thanks, Meeting ...

I've actually prayed for rain ... This is the worst ever and no end in sight. It is bad psychologically, too. It began with lightning strikes 21 June and we've had blue sky only a few days since. The nonstop 100 degree-plus heat is creating/part of an inversion (whatever it's called).

Off to a gardening account - no way to avoid outdoor work. In Yuba City/Marysville people were told not even to venture out. I believe that's where they said. It's even worse there - cannot imagine WORSE!

    Appreciate your reply ...

    CoCo
