A great film I think. I can remember as a JW thinking that we were the only ones that
abstained from blood, and that this somehow marked us as having the truth. So to see this
film, was a bit of a surprise, even some type of a badge of honour. 'It must be about us I
thought'. In the movie the religion of John Harris is not specifically mentioned, but I
can remember seeing the meeting times on the wall of the hall that they met in .

Sounds curious, perhaps this film was about the JW's with out actually saying so..
However I also have the book that the film
is based on, and some interesting statements are made.
The Religion that is mentioned is one I have never heard of before, and I can't seem to
find out about it either, even after a google search or two. Perhaps some of you have come across
some information about this group before.
The ''Neighbours of God'' is the name of the group in the book, and they are
mentioned as selling a monthly magazine called '' The Beacon '' This group
was started in the US, in the 1880's by a man named '' Colonel Silas P Quinn
''. They also had some idea of 144.000 going to heaven.
I do suspect that it might be one of those cases were ''the names of the people and places have been changed to protect the innocent''as the saying goes.
And I should warn all of you philistines that the
film is in black and white, not colour
Does anyone have any info ?
thanks so much
