"Appropriate" is often enough an issue of perspective...I would personally say if it can get you reproved/df'ed then there is a good chance it is appropriate!

That's hilarious....
and another thing about "appropriate" the elders stopped deciding what was appropriate for me the day they overlooked my husband's abuse, THEY are far from appropriate. So, if it doesn't bother your sense of self respect I think you should feel free to set the bar on "appropriateness" when talking to those people.
